Security Gates & Grilles

Side-folding grilles, overhead rolling shutters, mini roll-ups, and tambour shutters from Dynamic Closures — built for storefronts, kiosks, malls, pharmacies, and counter service since 1975.

Real Security That Looks Like Architecture

Dynamic Closures has been making side-folding and overhead rolling security closures since 1975 — the systems you see across mall storefronts, food courts, airports, and pharmacies. RHL Enterprises specs, sells, and installs them across Illinois and SE Wisconsin.

Every install is backed by our service team for motor and lock service, finish touch-ups, and component replacement when it's time.

What These Systems Actually Solve

Real Physical Barrier

Visible deterrent or full closure — from open mesh grilles to solid steel shutters. Pick the level of protection your space actually needs.

Disappears When Open

Side-folding grilles stack tight against the wall. Overhead rolls coil into a slim header. Open hours look like there's no closure at all.

Built for Daily Operation

Heavy-duty hardware engineered for thousands of cycles. Manual or motorized depending on opening size and how often you'll close it.

Closures Engineered for Commercial Reality

Security grilles and shutters live in a tough spot — they have to disappear when the business is open and stand up to abuse when it's closed. Dynamic Closures engineers four families of system to cover the full range, from the storefront roll-down to the pharmacy tambour cabinet.

Rolling Secure

Four Families, One Platform

Side-folding for wide spans, overhead roll-up for limited side clearance, mini roll-up for storefront windows, tambour for cabinets and counters.

Side Folding

Side Folding Security Grilles & Doors

Accordion-style grille that closes horizontally and stacks compactly to the side when open. The right pick for wide storefronts and mall openings where you can't sacrifice header height.

Closure StyleHorizontal accordion fold

Height RangeUp to 14'+ tall, custom
OperationManual or motorized

MaterialsSteel, stainless, aluminum
Stack PositionSide-stack into pocket or against wall
Best ForStorefronts, malls, food courts, airports
Overhead Rolling

Overhead Roll-Up Shutters

Vertical roll-up shutter that coils into a header above the opening. Best when limited side clearance rules out a side-folding grille — available in the same materials, finishes, and colors.

Mini Roll-Up Shutters

Compact roll-up for smaller openings — storefront windows, kiosks, drive-throughs, and pass-through service points. Easy-mount header, a few operation options, lockable.

Built to Match the Architecture

Security gates don't have to look like prison gates. Dynamic Closures offers materials and finishes designed to read as part of the building — not against it.

Steel
Heavy-duty steel construction for maximum durability and long-term performance in commercial environments. The base material for high-security applications.
Stainless Steel
Corrosion-resistant for wet, outdoor, or coastal environments. Healthcare and food-service applications where chemical wipe-down is the routine.
Aluminum
Lightweight, easier to operate manually, lower maintenance burden. The right pick for high-cycle openings and weight-sensitive overhead installations.
Galvanized Steel
Zinc-coated steel for enhanced rust resistance in challenging environments — outdoor service windows, parking-deck access, exterior storefronts.
Clear Anodized
Natural aluminum appearance with a protective anodized layer. Clean modern look that blends into glass-and-steel storefront systems.
Powder Coat (Custom Color)
Standard or custom paint colors for branded storefronts and architectural matches. Powder coat is more durable than wet paint for high-cycle hardware.

Common Questions About Security Gates & Grilles

Side folding or overhead roll-up — which one?
Side-folding grilles stack to one or both sides — great when you have side wall pocket space and a wide opening. Overhead roll-ups coil into a slim header above the opening — the right pick when you can't sacrifice side wall room or want the closure invisible behind a header. We confirm the geometry on the site survey.
Motorized or manual?
For openings under 8 feet that close once or twice a day, manual operation is reliable and saves cost. For larger openings, frequently-cycled storefronts, or accessibility-required installs, motorized with key switch or remote is the right pick.
What materials are available?
Steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and galvanized steel are standard. Steel is heaviest and most secure; stainless and galvanized are corrosion-resistant for wet or outdoor use; aluminum is lightest and easiest to operate manually. Mix-and-match across openings if your facility has different requirements.
How secure are these compared to a roll-down door?
Open-mesh grilles are visual deterrents and physical barriers — they stop reach-and-grab and provide commercial-grade locking, while keeping merchandise visible from the mall corridor. Solid roll-up shutters give full opaque closure and full physical barrier. Tambour units with cabinet locks are appropriate for regulated drug storage. We match the spec to the threat profile.
Can the finish match our existing storefront?
Yes. Powder-coat in any custom color, multiple anodized aluminum tones, and standard architectural finishes. Bring us a paint chip or finish sample and we'll match.
How long do these systems last?
15–25 years is typical with regular service. Motors and locks are wear items and get serviced periodically; the slats, frame, and drum are built to outlast the original install. RHL handles the long-term service so the system stays in service.
