Professional Gymnasium Curtain Systems

From single-court dividers to full multi-gym configurations, RHL Enterprises handles every step — site evaluation, custom sizing, ceiling-mount hardware, and complete installation. IPI by Bison curtain systems are built for the demands of high-traffic athletic facilities.

Every installation is backed by our service team for preventative maintenance, motor and track service, and fabric replacement whenever you need us.

What a Divider Curtain Actually Does

Court Separation

Turn one gym into two or three courts running in parallel. Basketball on one side, volleyball on the other, zero crossover.

Player Safety

Balls, players, and equipment stay on their own side. The solid vinyl bottom stops stray shots before they cross activities.

Noise & Distraction Buffer

The curtain buffers sound and cuts sightlines between courts so athletes stay focused on their own practice.

How a Gym Divider Curtain Is Built

A divider curtain hangs from the gym ceiling and drops to the floor to split the room. The bottom 8 feet is solid 18 oz flame-retardant vinyl — that's what stops balls, bodies, and sight lines. The top is a 50% open mesh that lets air move freely and keeps lighting even across the space.

Every IPI by Bison curtain is custom-built to your facility. You choose the operation (motorized or manual), your ceiling-stack footprint, and fabric colors. RHL handles the site survey, structural coordination, and install.

Four Curtain Systems. One Multi-Sport Cage.

Three motorized options, one manual, plus a specialty cage for indoor batting and tennis.

Motorized · Accordion

IP850 — Fold Up Curtains

Heavy-duty aircraft cables pleat the curtain accordion-style at the ceiling. The highest ceiling stack in the motorized line — chosen when you need full-height division in a tall gym.

IP880 — Roll Up Curtains

Built for Abuse, Finished for Your Gym

Every divider curtain is a hybrid build — 8 feet of solid vinyl at the bottom, a 50% open mesh above. Both layers are fire-rated, fade-resistant, and available in a full range of school colors.

18 oz Vinyl Bottom
Solid color, flame-retardant, polyester-reinforced vinyl. The 8-foot bottom section stops balls, blocks sightlines, and stands up to daily contact.
50% Open Mesh Top
VCP woven, vinyl-encapsulated polyester mesh lets air and lighting pass through so the gym doesn't feel sectioned into sealed rooms.
Welded Seams
Seams, hems, and joints use 1″ full-contact electronic welds — no sewing to pull apart under load or after years of raising and lowering.
Concealed Bottom Pipe
A 1 5/8″ galvanized pipe is hidden in a pocket along the bottom hem so the curtain hangs perfectly straight just above the floor.
Fire-Rated Throughout
All fabric components are self-extinguishing and tested to UL-214 and NFPA-701 — the codes most athletic facilities are required to meet.
UV & Mildew Resistant
Both vinyl and mesh fabrics resist UV fade, mildew, and mold — built for humid gyms and facilities with skylights.

School branding: Vinyl sections can be split to display team colors, school initials, or custom graphics. Ask us about multi-color layouts during the site survey.

Common Questions About Gym Divider Curtains

Should I choose motorized or manual?
If you divide the gym more than once or twice a week — or if you're over 20 feet tall at the ceiling — motorized is the right call. Manual walk-draw (IP810) is built for smaller facilities, tight budgets, or occasional use. We'll walk through your schedule on the site survey and make a recommendation.
Which motorized model needs the least ceiling space?
The IP870 Top Roll. Fabric wraps a 4″ upper drive pipe into the tightest storage profile in the motorized line — no cables, straps, or pulleys visible when stowed. IP880 Roll Up is the middle option. IP850 Fold Up takes the most ceiling space but handles the tallest curtains (up to 40').
Can curtains go around corners or follow an irregular layout?
The IP810 manual walk-draw handles corners and custom configurations along its track. Motorized curtains run in a straight line, but we can engineer multiple runs to cover irregular or angled spaces. Bring us your gym drawings and we'll design the layout.
What fire codes do these meet?
All fabric components — vinyl and mesh — are self-extinguishing and tested to UL-214 and NFPA-701. That covers the fire-rating requirements for most schools, rec centers, and public athletic facilities. If your AHJ has a specific code question, we'll get it answered before you order.
How long do gym divider curtains last?
With regular service, 15–20+ years is typical. The vinyl holds up well against ball contact. Motors, cables, and winches are the wear items on motorized systems — RHL can put you on a service plan that catches issues before they become failures.
Can we add school colors or branding to the vinyl?
Yes. The 18 oz vinyl bottom is available in 11 standard colors and can be split across multiple colors for team branding, school initials, or accent stripes. We'll mock up the layout before fabrication.
